October 28th, 2016 was the perfect night to hold this capital fundraising event to benefit the Ford Idaho Horse Park Foundation.  The event was set and held in the massive Horse Park facility, a world class equestrian property that is home to many local, regional and national competitions including the NFR and the PBA

Our job as producers was to put together all the elements (video, several performing horse groups, the orchestra, the script) and the call to podium of dozens of talking heads.  God bless wireless ClearCom

We had to time it to the minute because the horses can't stand around and the Boise Phil is a union shop so you need to keep the time exact.

The best part was when they asked Nancy to sing the Nat Anth live with the Phil.  The sent a recording of the version they do.  Key of Ab and in 3/4.  Bummer, it's like singing to a sousa march.  So I got permission to create my own score.  Key of F and in 4/4 with better voicing and expression.

Producing and directing a live show requires a lot of pre-show prep.  Our philosophy is it's better to have our people trained and on headsets to "wrangle" the performers than it is to try to teach everyone the show.  We have done multiple live shows that needed to be timed for broadcast.  This show ran 1 minute early.
